Every label on the platform is expected to act in the best interests of artists and to engage in transparent, ethical partnerships.
This Code of Conduct sets the minimum standards all labels must meet to participate on LabelRadar.
What We Do Not Allow
Labels on LabelRadar must not:
- Charge artists upfront fees to release music
- Require payment for signing, distribution, marketing, administration, or access to opportunities
- Offer “pay-to-release” or tiered service packages tied to releasing music
- Misrepresent deal terms, outcomes, or affiliations
- Apply pressure tactics that encourage artists to make financial commitments
- Engage in misleading, deceptive, or bad-faith behavior
If an artist is required to pay in order to release music, that label does not belong on LabelRadar.
What Is Allowed
We recognize that legitimate label models can take different forms. The following are permitted when they are clear, optional, and transparent:
- Revenue-sharing agreements where costs are recouped after release
- Optional services that are not tied to signing or releasing music
- Clearly disclosed recoupment structures and revenue splits
- Honest communication about expectations, timelines, and outcomes
Transparency is essential. Artists should always understand exactly how a deal works before agreeing to it.

Holding the Standard
This Code of Conduct is not optional.
It reflects the values of our artist community and the standards we expect all labels to meet.
We will continue to review and strengthen these guidelines to ensure LabelRadar remains a safe, trusted space for artists.
Please note: whilst we are committed to the safety of our artists, LabelRadar is not involved with, and is not a party to, any agreements made between labels and artists on the platform. Users are encouraged to seek independent legal advice before signing any binding contracts.
